About Ryan
Ryan Donald Willis grew up in Del Mar, CA, attending Torrey Pines High School, running state-level Varsity Cross Country and CIF-level Varsity Track & Field while keeping exceptional grades in his AP courses. Graduating with honors, he was invited to attend UC San Diego for his undergraduate studies in Molecular Biology, intending to ultimately attend medical school and become a neurosurgeon.
While he was successful in his calculus, biology, and chemistry courses his first year, he found that his career passion was in entrepreneurial business and film producing. Having established an independent production company, FootSteps Productions, in his junior year of high school, he began producing corporate, industrial, and government films full time during his final three years at UC San Diego. While his production company was able to pay for his entire undergraduate education by graduation in June 2010. Ryan was able to achieve higher than a 3.8 GPA in an interdisciplinary major that focused on entrepreneurial business marketing and it's relation to film and television producing for the entertainment industry.
During Spring of his junior year of college, he transferred to the University of Virgina in order to attend their Semester at Sea program, a nautical program that educated it's students at sea while encircling the globe. He brought a basic video production suite with him: photographing, filming, and producing video content in 17 different countries while in port and at sea.

In Ryan's final quarter at UC San Diego, he took an independent study internship in Beverly Hills. He interned full time at the Producers Guild of America, working in the office of the Guild's Executive Director. While interning, apart from helping improve Guild database efficiency and providing day-to-day support to members, he assisted in planning and operations of the Guild's annual Produced By Conference as well as their very selective Diversity Workshop. He accepted and coordinated entries for the Producer's Challenge Film Festival, as well as designed DVD screeners for judges. He assisted producers in coordinating their annual Deborah Hill Fellowship for graduate level producing students and assisted producers with the Producers Guild Green Initiative, which is trying to establish a status quo that eliminates waste in the conventional entertainment industry production process.
